Choosing Your Blockchain
How to choose and activate the right blockchain for your store.
On the free version, you activate one blockchain at a time. This page explains how to choose one and what to consider. If you are on Pro, all 8 chains are active simultaneously - you can still use this page to decide which ones make sense to enable for your store.
Activating a chain (free version)
In WooCommerce → Settings → Payments → AshePay, find the Active Chain dropdown and select the blockchain you want to accept payments on. Only one chain can be active on the free version at a time.

Which blockchain should I choose?
There is no single right answer - it depends on your customers. Here is a practical breakdown:
Choosing by use case
- Cheapest fees for customers → Polygon, BNB Chain, Base, or Tron - Gas fees on these chains are typically a few cents. Good choice if you sell lower-priced products.
- Best stablecoin support → Ethereum, Polygon, or Tron - USDT and USDC have the deepest liquidity and widest wallet support on these chains.
- International / unbanked customers → Tron or BNB Chain - Very popular in regions with limited banking access.
- Crypto-native audience → Ethereum, Arbitrum, or Base - Common choices for DeFi and NFT communities.
- Bitcoin maximalists → Bitcoin - The only option for customers who only hold BTC.
- Solana community → Solana - Fast and cheap, very popular with the Solana NFT / DeFi crowd.
Not sure? Start with Ethereum or Polygon. They have the broadest wallet support and the most popular stablecoins (USDT, USDC). You can switch to a different chain at any time in settings - existing paid orders are not affected.
Enabling chains on Pro
On AshePay Pro, you can toggle each chain on or off individually. You do not need to accept all 8 - only enable the ones you have wallet addresses for.

What tokens are available per chain?
Each chain comes with its native coin plus stablecoins where available:
- Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base - ETH, USDT (ERC-20), USDC (ERC-20)
- Polygon - POL, USDT, USDC
- BNB Chain - BNB, USDT (BEP-20), USDC (BEP-20)
- Solana - SOL, USDT (SPL), USDC (SPL)
- Bitcoin - BTC only
- Tron - TRX, USDT (TRC-20)
You cannot add custom or unlisted tokens - only the pre-configured tokens above are supported.
